The Toyota Supra JZA70 was released in mid 1990 and was fitted with the first generation of the JZ engine series, the 1JZ-GTE. Rated at 206kw, this pushed the Supra (*TwinTurbo R) to a mid 14 second quarter mile time, 1 second quicker than the MA70 Turbo. There were several specs of JZA70, ranging from the packed out luxury model (x) to the sports model (TwinTurbo R). The TwinTurbo R came factory with Recaro seats, steering wheel and shifter knob and matching trim panels, it also came fitted with Bilstein shock absorbers with up rated springs and charcoal 5 spoke alloys. Other features of the JZA70 Supra was the replacement of the mechanical clutch LSD with a Torsen unit.
